On a fee-for-service basis on in the frame of R&D agreements, we routinely conduct a three-ways strategy in parallel to speed-up the process and reduce the costs:
- Sub-fractionation and purification for bioactivity-guided discovery;
- Mass spectrometry investigations (MS & MS/MS) for structure-driven discovery;
- Data- and text-mining loops in our databases for biocomputing assisted discovery.

Hits to Lead: improving on Nature & relying on Nature
Using its proprietary Atheris bioinformatic and proteomic tools coupled to its long term expertise in protein engineering, the Melusine Team is also willing to participate in the identification and characterisation of natural (through screening of related biological sources) and synthetic (through drug design) analogues of identified hits for lead optimisation. Here again we have a three-ways parallel medicinal chemistry strategy:
- Biocomuting loops to identify analogues and key structural patterns;
- Screening of related venoms to broaden the natural biodiversity;
