Melusine libraries are offered on microplates (96 or 384-wells plates) in multiple formats, from raw extracts to highly purified molecules:

Melusine - SEMI-PURIFIED ANIMAL VENOM FRACTIONS

Our most successful products are pre-fractionated raw animal venoms. For each species, the venom sample is submitted to a specific handling step, followed by a high resolution chromatographic separation into 80 fractions that are dispatched in ready-to-use microplates for HTS. In our standard format, Melusine collections offer the following features:

• Public or exclusive collection of up to 600 pre-fractionated venoms;
  
• Each venom sample is fractionated into 80 fractions dispensed in microplates;
• Each fraction typically contains 5-20 molecules;
• A possible grand total of 32'000 fractions containing 250'000 bioactives;
  
• 96-wells plates contain 80 fractions from one venom, plus 16 empty wells;
  
• 384-wells plates contain 320 fractions from 4 venoms, plus 64 empty wells;
  
• Standard 1x format prepared for primary screens to target nM bioactivities;
• Bioactives will be at a concentration of approx. 0.5-5 µM if dissolved in 50-100 µL;
  
• The plates are prepared according to your own format;
• We willingly assist you in the choice of venoms to increase the success rate.

Specifically designed formats are also offered, such as:

• 2x, 4x or 10x formats with larger amounts of material;
• Peptide-enriched libraries (depletion of proteins with 3, 5 or 10 kDa cut-off);
• Original collections with fractions containing small molecule (< 1'000 Da);
• We also offer unique collections of rare & totally unexplored venoms.

Melusine - SEMI-PURIFIED INSECT HEMOLYMPH FRACTIONS

We have more than 200 samples of insect hemolymphs (fluid corresponding to blood in other animals). These are made available in the same pre-fractionated format as venoms. As it is the case for venoms, hemolymphs are a largely unexplored source of bioactives acting as anti-microbials, neurotransmitters and immunomodulators. For references see:

Our animal venom and insect hemolymph collections can also be offered as raw extracts. However, they are too complex to allow direct bioassays as such. Therefore, to increase the chances of finding bioactive compounds, we prepared them in 5 different manners and distributed them on microplates as raw extracts. Due to the stock limitations for certain species, please contact us for availability.

We have more than 200 different peptides available on microplate format. The peptide sequences are recorded in our database and were designed to mimic bioactive peptides, please contact us for details.
